Happy 13th B'day to my Big Guy aka Pooh Daddy.... Mr. Tyren Juwan Young
Didn't get to do anything special today with my son because of surgery... had to postpone his party @ Dave and Busters til the end of the Month. He spent the day with his dad so I didnt even get to do my daily pic with him for my blog....
Didn't do anything as usual hung out with Dusty, Sassy and Lilo.
His favorite chocolate chip cookie from World of Cookies.... Thanks so much Keith

Let me start with in 24 hrs I will be a mother of a TEENAGER.... lawd grant me the strength to be patient and not kill him as he test the waters on becoming the man I want for him to be.
Today I can open my eye on its own. The gas bubble is still there so I still cant do much but keep my head down and trust me my mom and sister is making sure that I do that...

Ok so this pics I cant decide if I look like Oprah in the Color Purple or Quasimodo from the Hunchback of Notre Dame... either way I look a hot fricken mess....
My follow up today went excellent. One of the things that Dr Rosen told me on Sunday was that it was possible that I wouldn't have vision in my left eye for about 6 months. They removed the bandages and I danced a jig on the inside when I could see the nurse wiggly his hands and and everything.....
Dr Rosen said that I was one of his best cases.... he said it looked like I wouldnt need a second surgery.... (please keep the prayers coming cause I dont want to do this again)

Went in at 130 to see Dr Rosen... ok I have to put my cousin Steph on blast.... Let me thank her first for taking me to the hospital for my surgery, however lol.... Did you have to let me walk into the wall.... I still love you....
Ok today I am having the same surgery that Amare Stoudamire with the Phoenix Suns had done.
It's called the Sclera Buckle Surgery, now what is that you might ask?
Scleral buckling surgery is the most common way to treat retinal detachment. It is a method of closing breaks and flattening the retina. See an illustration of a detached retina.
A scleral buckle is a piece of silicone sponge, rubber, or semi-hard plastic that your eye doctor (ophthalmologist) places on the outside of the eye (the sclera, or the white of the eye). The material is sewn to the eye to keep it in place. The buckling element is usually left in place permanently.
The element pushes in, or "buckles," the sclera toward the middle of the eye. This buckling effect on the sclera relieves the pull (traction) on the retina, allowing the retinal tear to settle against the wall of the eye. The buckle effect may cover only the area behind the detachment, or it may encircle the eyeball like a ring. See an illustration of a scleral buckle in place.
By itself, the buckle does not prevent a retinal break from opening again. Usually extreme cold (cryopexy) or less commonly, heat (diathermy) or light (laser photocoagulation) is used to scar the retina and hold it in place until a seal forms between the retina and the layer beneath it. The seal holds the layers of the eye together and keeps fluid from getting between them.
Sometimes your eye doctor may inject a gas bubble into your eye to flatten the retina. He or she may also drain the fluid under the detached retina through a tiny hole in the sclera. If there is only a small amount of fluid, draining it may not be needed. The retina will pump it out.
After the surgery.... I couldn't tell you anything pass the doctor rolling me into OR... the anesthia must have worked instantly because it was like 4 when I went in and it was like 1030 when they finally got me to wake up. My mom said the Dr came to her about 720pm saying it was a success so the other 3 hrs I must have been dog tired cause I could hear the nurse calling my name but I couldnt or should I say would not open my eyes.
I had to sleep sitting up holding my head down.... this is the worst part is now I have to become acquainted with the grown....until the gas bubble is gone from my eye.

Ok woke up today still in the same condition as yesterday...
took Tyren to his basketball game, they lost... but they played hard....

I have a Detached Retina....A what? Exactly thats what I said...
A retinal detachment occurs when the retina is pulled away from its normal position in the back of the eye. The retina sends visual images to the brain through the optic nerve. When detachment occurs, vision is blurred. A detached retina is a very serious problem that almost always causes blindness unless it is treated.
The retina normally lies smoothly and firmly against the inside back wall of the eyeball and functions much like the film in the back of a camera. Millions of light-sensitive retinal cells receive optical images, instantly "develop" them, and send them on to the brain to be seen. If any part of the retina is lifted or pulled from its normal position, it is considered detached and will cause some vision loss.
The vitreous is the clear collagen gel that fills the back of the eye between the retina and the lens. As we get older the vitreous may pull away from its attachment to the retina at the back of the eye. Usually the vitreous separates from the retina without causing a problem. But sometimes the vitreous pulls hard enough to tear the retina in one or more places. Fluid may pass through the retinal tear and lift the retina off the back of the eye like wallpaper can peel off a wall.
Retinal detachment can occur at any age, but it is more common in midlife and later. Conditions that can increase the chance of a retinal detachment include nearsightedness; previous cataract surgery; glaucoma; severe trauma; previous retinal detachment in your other eye; family history of retinal detachment; or weak areas in your retina that can be seen by your ophthalmologist.

Today Tyren schools basketball team participated in a basketball tourney... They actually won there first game today....
Today something strange is going on with my left eye. All day long I thought something was on my glasses but no matter how much I wiped my glasses and could see nothing was there when I put the glasses onmy eyes... there was still some type of dark shadow there.
Later on when I covered my hands over my eyes... when I covered the left eye I could see clearly (with glasses on of course)but when I did the same with the right the top half of my left was brown and the lower half was clear. I tried everything not knowing what was going on... drops, washing eye out ... NOTHING....
as you see I forgot to take a pic again lol... all wrapped up and ready for bed lol...

My new CRACKBERRY has arrived... I know i just got the red curve just 2 months ago... but I cant help it... I like to have the newest phone... and that would now be the 8900 under TMobile cause I was feenin for that Storm...

Another productive day at the office.... Worked til 9 once again... was going to stay a little longer but I still had to do this weeks homework for class so came on home.
Doing my homework with Rachel via internet... the internet is such a wonderful tool.

Today was a productive day. We have 2 weeks left before we start our year end close (cant wait to see what those pics look like lol)

Presidents Day... No work and No school...
It rained most of the day, so pretty much relaxed. Legs are soar like I just ran a 26 mile marathon....
